 My-KSMO: Word of the Day Contest –official contest rules and regulations

 


A complete copy of these rules can be obtained at the offices of radio station 95.7 the Vibe (the “Station”), owned and operated by Cumulus Media Partners LLC, 5800 Foxridge Drive, 6th Floor, Mission, KS  66202, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:30pm, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the above address.  The Station will conduct the contest as described in these rules, and by participating, each participant agrees to the following:

1. Description of Contest/Participation.
A. Dates of Contest: April 28th, 2008 – May 12th, 2008
B. Eligibility: Winners must be legal U.S. residents 18 years of age or older, live within the Station’s listening area, and able to provide proof of valid photo identification. Employees of the Station, Cumulus Media Partners, its affiliates and subsidiaries, their immediate families, their agencies or other Kansa City radio and television stations are ineligible.  No purchase necessary to enter or win. One winner per family and household during this contest.  Persons from households where an individual has won a prize valued at $500.00 or more within thirty (30) days prior to the date the contest begins (April 28th, 2008) are ineligible to participate in the contest.
C. How to Play (First week of contest): The game will be played a total of 10 times from Monday, April 28th to Monday, May 5th, 2008, between the hours of 6:00 am and 11:59 pm.  We take the 7th caller at 576-7-957 who correctly identifies the word of the day seen on Friends between 6pm and 7pm on My-KSMO and they win a My-KSMO prize pack and become qualified for the grand prize of a 2-day, 1-night get away to Las Vegas which includes: hotel, concert tickets to Making the Band 4, & airfare.  The grand prize will be announced on Monday, May 5th, 2008 at approximately 7:30am.
(Second week of contest): The game will be played a total of 10 times from Monday, May 5th to Monday, May 12th, 2008, between the hours of 6:00 am and 11:59 pm.  We take the 7th caller at 576-7-957 who correctly identifies the word of the day seen on Friends between 6pm and 7pm on My-KSMO and they win a My-KSMO prize pack and become qualified for the grand prize of a 2-day, 1-night get away to Miami, FL which includes: hotel, concert tickets to Alicia Keys & airfare.  The grand prize will be announced on Monday, May 12th, 2008 at approximately 7:30am.

2. Prizes: 
A.  Qualifying Prizes:  Qualifying prizes are a My-KSMO prize pack valued at $40. Every contestant of the My-KSMO Word of the Day contest is entered into a drawing to win the Grand Prize.  All qualifying prizes are awarded “as is” and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash.
B. The Grand Prize:  Two (2) Grand Prize will be awarded to a qualifying contestant.  The Grand Prize consists of, a 2-day, 1-night get away to Las Vegas or Miami which includes: hotel & airfare. The trip winner will be announced on Monday, May 5th for first week of contesting and Monday, May 12th for the second week of contesting at approximately 7:30am. The winner will be determined by a random drawing of all qualifying contestants. If a winner is disqualified or fails to satisfy the eligibility requirements, the Station reserves the right to select an alternate winner or not to award the Grand Prize, in its sole discretion. The Grand Prize is awarded “as is” and may not be substituted for cash. Trip times may be altered, but the Grand Prize winner assumes all penalties, fees, and/or additional charges incurred by changes or cancellation of travel plans.  Station is not responsible if the Grand Prize winner or his /her guest is unable to participate in the trip.

3. Telephone Disclaimer:  The Station cannot be held responsible for any technical problems, telephone problems, and failure or cellular disconnects.  The Station reserves the right to terminate poor quality calls that could result in a lack of clarity.

4. Publicity -- By participating, all participants and winners grant the Station the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses for any reason the Station deems necessary without compensation, unless prohibited by law.  All participants and winners waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use.

5. Release -- Each participant and/or winner waives any and all claims of liability against the Station, Cumulus Media Partners, their employees and agents, for any personal injury, misfortune, damage or loss, to either persons or property, which may occur from entering, participating in, winning, or losing this contest, and/or by the use or non-use of any prize received in connection with this contest.

6. Taxes -- All State, Local, Federal and or other taxes, duties, tariffs, title fees, licensing fees, or other fees for prizes awarded become the sole responsibility of the winner.  Each winner must provide the Station with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from the Station will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.

7. Miscellaneous – As a condition to receiving a prize, all winners will be required to sign release form releasing the Station, its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, members, directors, officers, and employees from all liability in connection with winner’s participation in the contest, acceptance and use or non-use of the prize.  Prizes must be claimed within one (1) year of winning or all rights in and to the prize are forfeited and ownership of the prize reverts back to the Station.  Winner(s) must present proof of identification and proof of age in the form of a photo ID to claim prize.  The Station reserves the right to disqualify any participant or winner and may refuse to award any prize to a person who is ineligible or has violated any rule, gained unfair advantage in participating in the contest, or obtained winner status using fraudulent means. Further, the Station will resolve, in its sole discretion, any and all disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the contest, selection of winners, and these contest rules.  The Station’s decisions concerning all such disputes shall be final. The Station may waive any of these rules in its sole discretion.  The Station reserves the right to change or modify these rules while the contest is in progress. Any such changes or modifications will be noted for public attention.  The Station shall not be responsible for the failure of participating sponsors to deliver the prizes or any part thereof as described herein.

8. General information -- Void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend upon the number of persons attempting to call the Station when prompted to do so. The Station may amend the rules or discontinue the contest at any time as announced on the station. The Station disclaims any responsibility to notify participants of any aspect related to the conduct of this contest. Written copies of these rules are available during normal business hours at the business offices of the station and by mail upon written request with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope to the Station’s address above.

9. The Station reserves the right to end the contest earlier than the date listed or to extend the length of the contest.
